Greetings,

As CEO and owner of M.H. Logistics and its family of Companies and the “His First Foundation”, I would like to share with you my philosophy.  The business manual that I strive to use more than any is the Bible.  The Bible contains the principles of conducting business professionally and ethically. The leadership team agreed to establish this “Foundation” to return the first fruits to Him from where all blessings come.  We pray that it will make our community a better place.  If you would like to read a little about my spiritual journey, please read on!

When I was in college it didn’t take me long to figure out that something was missing.  A friend of mine challenged me to read the Bible starting with the book of Matthew.  When I got to the 7^th chapter – my life changed forever.  I thought everyone would go to heaven.  Verses 13-14 says “Enter by the narrow gates; for the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many, but the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life and those who find it are few!” Ouch!  That blew up my thought about everyone going to heaven. I still felt that I had gone to a church growing up and I considered myself a Christian even though I paid no attention to it.  Verses 21-23 says “Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven.  On that day many will say to me Lord, Lord ‘Did we not prophecy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name.’  Then I will say to them, depart from me you evildoers, I never knew you!” In a matter of minutes, I knew that I was on the outside looking in. 

As I continued my reading, I realized that a perfectly holy God requires perfection and that my very best day still falls far short of that standard.  This is why you and I need a savior.  Out of His love for us, God sent Jesus to live the perfect life and then take our penalty on the cross.  He took our imperfection upon Himself and in return put on our account His perfection.  This is the basic gospel message.  If you would like additional information or have questions, email me at jwieland@mhequipment.com.
