Hysters Help Close Out an Era
On June 22, 2013, Dahlhauser Machine Shop in West Bend, Iowa, a long-time Hyster user, decided to close out an era and hold an auction to clear out over 73 years’ worth of machinery and tools so that the owner, Max Dahlhauser, could retire.
Opened in 1940 by Henry Dahlhauser, the machine shop started as gas station/repair shop and then over the years grew into a full-fledged machine shop fixing anything from lawnmowers to combines.
As you can see from the pictures below, the auction was a huge success, with over 200 buyers in attendance. To help load auction purchases for buyers, the machine shop was able to get a helping hand from two Hyster Pneumatic forklifts.
Now that the era of Dahlhauser Machine Shop has come to a close, owner Max Dahlhauser says, “I’m looking forward to spending some time at the race track!”
Good luck Max, with your new endeavors, and thank you for being a Hyster customer!
