• MH Equipment vs. Hunger 2013

Lexington, KY – May 15, 2013:  MH Equipment held their 3rd annual “Battle of the Branches” to benefit local food pantries during the month of April.  All 26 MH Equipment branches participated in collecting over 15,000 food items for food pantries in their communities. John Wieland, CEO said “Not everyone has enough food to put on their table. We feel blessed and honored that we are able to give back to our community food banks.”

The Lexington branch claimed their second Battle of the Branches competition in three years by collecting 2,434 items (152 items per employee) and earned the rights to another year with the Battle of the Branches traveling trophy!   More importantly, they will receive a $500.00 donation from the His First Foundation to their community food bank of choice, God’s Pantry Food Bank, which serves 50 counties in Central and Eastern Kentucky. http://www.godspantry.org/

Wieland adds, “A carpenter once said ‘it is more blessed to give than receive’. This is true and I am humbled by the giving nature of MH Equipment’s employees and thank them for their contributions. Congratulations to Lexington on their Battle of the Branches win!”

    About His First Foundation

At MH Equipment, we believe that providing exceptional customer service is a core building block for every business. However, as a company we also believe that it is as equally important for OUR business to fulfil the opportunities, placed before us daily, to improve the communities in which we live. We feel it is our responsibility to come alongside our employees in their charitable efforts in order to make positive impacts in the lives of those around us.

For this purpose, in 2001 we established our His First Foundation. Our Foundation was created to support our employees’ passions with their charitable efforts in the areas of faith, secular good works, and acts of kindness.

    Faith-Based Organizations
“His First Foundation” will support non-denominational organizations whose mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ as well as meeting the physical needs of people in His Name. Local churches and national denominations are exempt from this foundation.

    Secular “Good Works” Organizations
“His First Foundation” will support organizations that perform “good works” for a community whose values are consistent with the Foundation.

    Acts of Kindness
“His First Foundation” will come alongside people in need that are suffering because of circumstances completely out of their control.
