Shoeboxes Full of Fun for Kids Less Fortunate

MH Equipment employees from across the Midwest generously donated to Operation Christmas Child, an annual drive sponsored by the charity Samaritan’s Purse. Shoeboxes filled of both fun and practical items for young people were gathered to be taken to children in less fortunate countries – who might not otherwise receive a gift at Christmas.

John Wieland, CEO announced that there was a total of 856 boxes, an increase of 206 boxes over last year.  The vast majority of MH branches increased their total from last year with a few branches actually doubling their total!

A feature that many are looking forward to is a code on the box that allows a donation to be tracked to its final destination.  “I’m excited to track where my box ends up, it’s for a little girl.”, said Accountant Barb Blair

All of MH is looking forward to finding out where their box ended up.  Also new this year, Uncle Si, of Duck Dynasty fame is a spokesperson for Operation Christmas Child. Take a look at his fun video explaining why he is involved.

Operation Christmas Child is operated by Samaritan’s Purse, headquartered in Boon, North Carolina. Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have received boxes from Operation Christmas Child. After they leave MH Equipment branches, they will be shipped to processing centers located in Atlanta; Charlotte; Boone, NC; Denver; Honolulu; Minneapolis; Orange County, California; and the Dallas/Fort Worth area where they will be inspected and prepared for shipment overseas.
