Armor Equipment Joins MH Equipment

MH Equipment Company recently completed an agreement to acquire the St. Louis, Missouri based Armor Equipment, which sells and services equipment to private and municipal refuse, sewer, and street equipment customers in Missouri, Kansas, and Southern Illinois. Armor distributes a full line of new and used equipment, including refuse trucks, street sweepers, sewer equipment, sewer cameras, and roll-off hoists. The company opened in St. Louis in 1970 and has grown steadily to reach more than $20 million in annual sales in 2022.

According to MH Equipment’s CEO John Wieland, “Armor Equipment has demonstrated industry leadership and they’ve built a solid reputation for local service and support. As experts in their field, we expect them to flourish as part of MH Equipment.” Tripp Manheimer, President of Armor Equipment added, “Armor expects to continue business as usual, and that includes exceeding customer expectations for high quality products and services.” Manheimer will remain with the company and continue to lead the Armor Equipment operations as a separate business unit.

Armor’s staff of 30 people became employees of MH Equipment Company on October 31. This wholly owned subsidiary will continue normal operations as Armor Equipment out of their two locations in St. Louis (Arnold, Missouri) and Kansas City (Olathe, Kan.).

Based in Peoria, Illinois, MH Equipment Company sells, services, and rents material handling equipment from premier brands of the Hyster Yale Group, PowerBoss, Karcher, Rail King, CombiLift, Motrec, Taylor-Dunn, Genie, Skyjack, OTTO Motors, among several others. It operates in 33 service locations across 10 states and has just over 1,100 employees, 550 of them service technicians.
